This meta-analysis evaluated the effectiveness of available treatments for self-injury in adolescents. We chose eight between group studies (N = 446) that met our inclusion criteria. Results revealed small to large Hedge's g effect sizes for self-injury. Moderator analyses identified age, number of sessions, and depression effect size as factors that accounted for differences in treatment effect. Implications and suggestions for future research are discussed. (PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2021 APA, all rights reserved)
